What Are the Common Mistakes to Avoid in Content Marketing?

Here are 5 of the most common beginner mistakes in content marketing:

  1. Not being able to persevere: When I first started writing on Quora, I barely made an impact. For example, my second answer got 670 views. This is when people usually quit. The idea of getting over 100,000 views on a single piece of content seemed crazy at the time. Giving up would have been easy to do. But,...if I quit, I wouldn’t have hit the 14 million views that I have today. Here’s the thing about content marketing: almost everybody sucks at the beginning of the process. What’s more important than getting it right the first time around is constantly pushing yourself to learn and hone your craft over time, whether it’s writing, Instagram posts, or Youtube videos. Learn to persevere.

2. Underestimating the impact of consistent effort:

Consistent effort compounds over time. When I first started blogging, I was only getting a handful of subscribers at the beginning from each post. However, I kept writing content roughly every 3 days and the majority of these posts were long form. By the end of the year, I had amassed 15,000+ subscribers, purely from content marketing.

3. Not adding value for your audience:
